Thurles Parish is in the process of setting up a Parish Pastoral Council. We would like to outline the proposed structure of this council.
From the review process already carried out it is envisaged that the Pastoral Council would consist of eight lay people along with the Priests of the parish. These eight parishioners would be nominated and selected by the parish community. It is hoped that there would be a good gender balance, age-spread and involvement from different areas of the parish to ensure the best representation of the community. As an opportunity for the people of Thurles to get involved, there will be 4 Lenten talks on Thursday’s March 2nd, 9th, 23rd & 30th @ 7.30p.m. in Lámh Chúnta. The speakers will include Archbishop Kieran (see article in latest issue of Tipperary Star) as well as those involved in developing Parish Pastoral Council at national and regional level. Further details of these talks will be given in next week.
