THE RELIC OF ST. TERESA OF CALCUTTA will be in Thurles Cathedral from Sunday July 16th until Tuesday July 18th. St. Teresa is renowned as a model of mercy and worked most of her life with the poor and homeless in India. The relic is being brought to every diocese in the country under the care and protection of the Knights of St. Columbanus.

Full Itinerary as follows:

Sunday July 16th:  6.30 p.m. – Arrival at Cathedral of the Assumption; 7.00 p.m. – Eucharistic Devotions; 7.30 – 9.30 p.m. – Veneration of the Relic.

Monday July 17th: 8.00 a.m. Mass followed by Veneration of the Relic; 11.00 a.m. Mass followed by Veneration of the Relic; 7.30 p.m. Mass followed by Veneration of the Relic.

Tuesday July 18th: 8.00 a.m. Mass followed by Veneration of the Relic; 11.00 a.m. Mass followed by Veneration of the Relic; 3.00 p.m. – Departure of Relic.

CATHOLIC GRANDPARENTS ASSOCIATION: On Wednesday July 26th, the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, a Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated in the Cathedral at 7.30 p.m.  This Mass is to acknowledge the role that grandparents played and continue to play in passing on the faith.  Please submit names of grandparents, living and deceased, who will be remembered during the Mass, to the Parish Office before Friday July 21st.  The congregation will be addressed by Catherine Wiley, founder of the Catholic Grandparents Association.

ST. PATRICK’S ANNUAL CEMETERY MASS: Friday July 28th @ 7.30 p.m. Our opportunity to gather and pray for our deceased family members and friends.
