CONGRATULATIONS BISHOP MARTIN HAYES, KILMORE DIOCESE

On behalf of the Parish Pastoral Council and the people of Thurles parish, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Fr. Martin Hayes who on Sunday last, September 20th was consecrated as Bishop of Kilmore Diocese in the Cathedral of St. Patrick & St. Felim, Cavan. We congratulate his family on this great occasion and acknowledge the great honour it is for them, Moycarkey, Littleton & Two-Mile-Borris Parish, Thurles Parish and Cashel & Emly Archdiocese. Fr. Martin, a native of New Hill, Two-Mile-Borris, served for many years in Thurles, initially in Bóthar Na Naomh, and later as Parish Administrator. We extend all our best wishes to Martin as he steps into a new chapter of his life and there will always be a welcome here for you in Thurles, and hopefully in a Covid-free future, the parish will celebrate with you in person.

I pray that we may relax in the reality of God’s love for each one of us and allow that love to guide us in all our actions.”    Address by Bishop Martin Hayes, Kilmore Diocese on Sunday, September 20th 2020.
